ITALIAN HAM AND MELON RECIPE



Ham and melon is a combination of very ancient origins dating back to the 2nd century AD, has its roots in the gastronomic culture of ancient Greece, when in the times of Galen it was used to combine two contrary elements, for example a salty and a sweet one, a cold one and one hot, one wet and one dry.


Galen was a doctor who founded the principles of his medicine on 4 elements: water, earth, fire, air and who, in order to live healthily, had to have these elements balanced between them in the body.




Ingredients:

-ham;

-Melon;













Preparation:

- Remove with a knife the ends of the melon, and then putting it on the cut part.


- Cut in two.


- Remove the seeds with a spoon, and proceed to cut the individual slices, following the groove of the melon


-Take the ham and place it on a plate with the melon.



Advices:

The next time you will find yourself this delicate dish, in perfect balance between sweetness and flavor, even if it is very easy to prepare, it is good to remember that it is a combination with almost fifteen hundred years of history !!
