What's better than a healthy breakfast ... making jams is quick and easy. We can use our favorite fruit always having a snack ready
Ingredients:
- Plums (1 kg)
- Sugar (350 gr)
- Apple (1)
- Lemon
- Cinnamon (optional)
Preparation:
- Wash and dry prunes and apple very well.
- Cut the fruit into small pieces by removing the seeds of the apple and the core of the plums.
- Add the fruit to a saucepan with the lemon juice and sugar.
- Put the saucepan over low heat and cook slowly until it becomes a puree.
- Add the cinnamon.
- Stir every now and then.
- To check the cooking take a teaspoon of jam and put it on a plate, wait a few seconds and tilt the plate if the jam does not move, we can consider it ready.
- Pour the still hot jam into the airtight and sterilized jars.
-Close with the lid and turn them upside down to create vacuum.
HOW TO STERILIZE THE JARS
Place a tea towel in the bottom of a large pot with high sides. Arrange the open jars and lids.
Place another tea towel between the jars to keep them from touching and breaking during boiling.
Fill the pot with cold water, to cover all the jars, and bring to a boil.
Let them boil for about 35-40 minutes. Turn off and let cool completely directly in the pot.
Remove the jars and lids from the water (try not to touch the internal parts of the jars and lids) and place them on a clean cloth upside down to dry.
